“Eat Smog” license plate in San Diego

March 17th, 2007 by Dave

My girl just took a pic with my crappy Sanyo Katana phone that cracked me up. I just had to post this. It’s a license plate that I’ll probably never see again in liberal, pollution controlling California. The pic kind of says it all.

This event is also weird in that I was also kind of pissed while sitting in my car behind this guy. I wanted to give the guy a slight love tap to show how I felt at the moment but remembered I was in my car and not my Jeep. It goes to show how careless and selfish a lot of people really are.

Click on the pic to enlarge it.

San Diego Police cracking down on DUI this holiday weekend

March 17th, 2007 by Dave

If you’re planning to go to the top party destinations this weekend (I’m definitely not because of my cold) then this is some good to know info. We’ve all done it but don’t even think about it for the next couple of weeks.

Police Launch DUI Crackdown

dui.jpg

SAN DIEGO — Police are making a countywide crackdown on drunken drivers this weekend, calling it Operation Green Mile.

Officers said they will be on patrol in large numbers, with many of them undercover in local bars, and others at DUI checkpoints.

Police said the stepped up patrols will mainly be in Carlsbad, Pacific Beach, downtown San Diego, and near the border.

Susan Tryon, the mother of a drunken driving victim, said she urges people to think of the consequences of their actions.

“It’s happening every day, you read in the newspapers, somebody else is getting killed by a drunk driver,” Tryon said. “Innocent victims are dying.”

Police said they plan to have extra officers on patrol for several weeks, through the spring break period.

San Diego Bitch Finally Convicted of Poisoning Marine Husband

January 30th, 2007 by Dave

Damn this made my day. I hope she rots in prison on her life sentence.

San Diego Wife Convicted of Poisoning Marine Husband

Cynthia SommerSAN DIEGO (AP) — A woman accused of poisoning her Marine husband with arsenic to cash in on his $250,000 life insurance policy was convicted of murder.

Prosecutors argued Cynthia Sommer, 33, wanted a more luxurious lifestyle than she could afford on her 23-year-old husband’s $1,700 monthly salary and saw the military life insurance policy as a way to ‘’set herself free.”

Sommer’s friends and co-workers testified during the trial that she threw wild parties, got her breasts enlarged and had casual sex with multiple partners in the weeks after her husband’s collapse.

Todd Sommer was in top condition when he collapsed and died at the couple’s home on the Marine Corps’ Miramar base in San Diego.

His death was initially ruled a heart attack. Tests of his liver later found levels of arsenic 1,020 times above normal.

With no direct evidence that Sommer was the source of the arsenic detected in her husband’s liver, Deputy District Attorney Laura Gunn relied heavily on circumstantial evidence of Sommer’s financial debt to show that she had a motive to kill Sgt. Todd Sommer.

Gunn asserted that the defendant was the only person with the motive and access to poison the Marine.

Cynthia Sommer faces life in prison. Her attorney, Robert Udell, told jurors that his client had lost her ”knight in shining armor.”

She is now engaged to a former Marine she met two months after her husband’s death. She was extradited last March to California from her current home in West Palm Beach, Fla.

She took his life insurance money, bought fake boobs, and screwed like it was the 70’s again. I hope her cell mate is 250 lbs. of hulking man woman with fingers the size of Oscar Meyer Ballpark wieners who makes her an obedient prison bitch.

I felt like being mean after reading that article. I’m usually not like that…..

Another motorcyclist dies in head-on collision in San Diego

December 22nd, 2006 by Dave

The more I read about stories as this the more pissed off I get. For one, car drivers thinking they own the whole road and crossing the lane dividers. This one killed a fellow motorcyclist. Two, the San Diego PD are still trying to figure out if he’s a U.S. citizen.

So now if they find out he’s not a U.S. citizen then he’ll get deported back to (more than likely) Mexico and eventually released with minor charges from the Mexican government. Now I have no proof because the article doesn’t state what nationality the car driver was (even though the educational ID from Mexico gives it away) but it still pisses me off because we get this kind of crap all the time in San Diego.

Check out the original article for more pics

Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Car

According to the California Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old male was driving a Ford Taurus southbound on Otay Lakes Road when he struck the motorcyclist. Investigators said the teen crossed the double yellow line at a turn and overcorrected, striking and killing the motorcyclist who was coming in the opposite way.

Officials are investigating to determine if the driver is a U.S. citizen.

“His only form of identification he had on him was a photo ID and an educational ID from Mexico,” said CHP spokesman Brian Pennings. “He gave us a Los Angeles address, though.”

The car’s driver suffered minor injuries and will face numerous charges, said officials.

Titans vs. Chargers: Murder in San Diego

September 17th, 2006 by Dave

Man this scoreboard sick:

Qualcomm Stadium - San Diego, CA

Tennessee (0-2, 0-1 away)

San Diego (2-0, 1-0 home)

1

0

3

2

0

17

3

0

6

4

7

14

T

7

40

I live right next to Qualcom and let me tell ya. It was damn loud. I seriously didn’t expect Tennessee to even score 7 but San Diego’s defense let off in the 4th quarter allowing Bennett to catch a TD pass from backup Quarterback Vince Young. It’s probably just me but… maybe there’s something about Kerry Collins that doesn’t fit with the Titans offense. I also read that Tennessee doesn’t have any plans to do anything about it. Oh well, as long as Bennett makes at least 1 TD in each game then I won’t complain. Bennett is on my Fantasy Football roster so Tennessee winning or loosing means nothing to me. L.T. was a monster again in the first half and even his partner Running Back Turner who played part of the first half and almost all of the second. He eventually put more yards up than L.T.

This puts San Diego at 2-0 and hopefully they keep this up. Last year was an upset after having such a great run to the playoffs.

Here’s a recap from ESPN.com.

Ban on use of hand-held car phones in Cali coming soon

September 15th, 2006 by Dave

It’s about Damn time!!! All the accidents that happen here in San Diego on our highways are mostly caused by some dip sh*t who’s trying to change 1-3 lanes while talking on his/her cell phone. Trust me. I ride a motorcycle to work everyday and you wouldn’t imagine the things I see on a daily basis or even the almost deadly mistakes a lot of drivers make by almost running over my ass. When I look back after swerving 9 times out of 10 it’s a person on the cell phone. 7 times out of 10 that person doesn’t have a clue what almost happened. They just keep on blabbering away. Pisses me the hell off but what am I to do other than flip them the birdie.
