Intel’s vision of the mobile device future

April 21st, 2007 by Dave

All who know me know I’ve always been quite the gadget nut. I already can’t wait to get my hands on the Apple iPhone as soon as it comes out. The wave of the future is mobility with video, audio, and a touch user interface but until wireless broadband in the U.S. gets to the same level hardware and software it’s still just a dream.

As I was browsing YouTube videos looking for babes bouncing around in bikinis I came across this video put together by Intel of the UMPC future. If you’re a mobile device addict you’ll definitely enjoy this.

Beer launcher fridge

March 2nd, 2007 by Dave

I know I’m a little late on blogging about this but I’ve watched this vid like 3 times today. I can definitely see myself with one of these soon. The bad thing is that I’ll have to settle with drinking out of cans. Oh well… I could deal with it.

The Ventureone is a bad ass

March 2nd, 2007 by Dave

Now I would definitely drive one of these in San Diego. Why does Europe get all the fun toys first? It’s not fair!

enclosed-motorbike.jpg

Is it a car or a motorbike? Actually, it’s both!

The three-wheeled machine - a modern day version of the Robin Reliant - runs on both petrol and electric yet can accelerate from 0 to 60mph is six seconds.

Its narrow 40 inch width means that two of them can drive side-by-side, helping to ease congestion in the busiest of cities.

And the 100kw electric motor will ensure that gas emissions are dramatically lower than a small family car.

The machine, called the VentureOne, has a small combustion engine which constantly charges the battery while driving.

But for a more eco-friendly drive, a 18 minute charge in the household mains will power the vehicle.

Hidden under the bubble exterior is a revolutionary tilting system which helps the VentureOne glide around bends like a motorcycle. However, the lightweight 1,200lbs vehicle also features a steering wheel, airbags and bumpers like a motor car.

It is fully enclosed with a 360 degree glass canopy roof so both passengers can get a full view of their journey while being protected from the elements.

It has been designed and built by US-based Venture Vehicles, which hopes to put it on sale in the UK by 2006 for 11,000 pounds.

Ian Bruce, co-founder of the Venture Vehicles, said: “The vehicle is a hybrid form of transportation meaning it uses both electric and fuel.

“This not only makes it very cost effective but it will also help the environment and congestion problems.

“If you increased the size of all the vehicles on the road by 10 per cent then everyone’s speed would reduce by 50 per cent, resulting in more congestion.

“But the VentureOne will definitely help ease up congestion as it is just 11ft long and 60 per cent thinner than a Mini Cooper.

“They are so thin that you can ride them side-by-side on a regular road.

“It only holds up to two people and uses a low amount of fuel which will help protect the environment.

“The VentureOne will achieve 100mpg with a top speed of over 100mph.

I want one now!

Forgot your Anniversary? Well, never again…

September 23rd, 2006 by Dave

With the Remember Ring you’ll never forget another Anniversary:

Remember Rings - Never Forget an Anniversary

24 hours before your special day, the Hot Spot on the interior surface of your Remember Ring will warm to 120 F for approximately 10 seconds, and continue to warm up every hour, on the hour, all day long!

Hot enough to cause discomfort but not hot enough to burn-the Remember Ring is impossible to ignore!

If you could set it up for like a 7 day reminder also then I’m sure someone would actually buy this…. Kewl concept though.

Top 10 Coolest BBQ Grills.

June 5th, 2006 by Dave

Top 10 Coolest BBQ Grills.: “Summer is nearly here, and with it comes the great American culinary tradition: barbecue!

BBQ is both a rite of summer and a rite of manhood (yes, BBQ is associated with male cooking, probably because any sane woman would not go near the combination fire, meat and beer). In some parts of the USA, BBQ is not just food, it’s a religion. The fastest way to start a fight is not to talk politics, but to argue about the virtues of wood vs. charcoal vs. gas. Even the word itself is kind of controversial: is it barbecue, barbeque, bar-b-q, or BBQ? Just don’t bring it up with a purist (or the one cooking your burger!)

There’s no argument, however, about the popularity of BBQ. The Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (yes, it’s a real organization - actually it is just one of many dedicated to barbecuing) did a study called ‘The State of Barbecue Industry Report’. The 2005 study[pdf] stated that 4 out of every 5 US households own a grill - in fact, 1 in 5 “
