This has got to be the best comparison I’ve ever run across on the net and I wouldn’t just narrow it to fast food. A lot of regular restaurants are guilty of this too.
Burger King Enormous Omelet Sandwich

Arby’s Beef ‘n’ Cheddar

Check out a lot more photo comparisons here.

I heard the Googlers ate healthy but that was an under-statement. This would be heaven to me.
I found this from a Google Mac Blog post today. The post writer linked to her flickr post named Google Food Photo Blog. To the poster, Amanda Walker: I envy you!
I’m not a vegetarian but I could definitely change…

I can’t believe I just found this recipe in Maxim magazine this morning. I remember making something almost like this a few years back when I lived in Hawaii. They were off-the-wall delicious and certainly beat the hell out of the constant repeat of turkey sandwiches. The one Maxim mag posted is supposedly from Iron Chef’s Mario Batali. I just pulled mine off the internet somewhere.
The ease of making this on a scale of 1-5 and 5 being extremely hard is a 1. Pretty much of you have the ingredients and can turn on the good ole’ electric or gas oven then you’re 80 percent of the way there.
I’m just going to summarize the one from the Maxim mag article:
Conchiglie Ripient Dei Resti
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shell-shaped pasta
- 4 tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 cup leftover mashed potatoes
- 2 cups leftover turkey chopped in the food processor, preferably from the legs and thighs
- 1 cup ricotta
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano
- 1 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
- 2 cups Emeril’s spicy tomato sauce
Prep
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Boil 8 qts. of water in a pot. Add 2 tbs. of salt and put in the shells. Cook the shells until 3 minutes short of the suggested time on the package. Drain, rinse with ice water, and put them in a colander lined with paper towels to dry. Now grease up a 10-by-12 baking dish with extra-virgin olive oil. Next mix the spuds, chopped turkey, ricotta, 1/2 cup of the cheese, and nugmeg in a bowl. After a good mix stuff the mixed ingredients into the shells. They should take about 2-3 Tbs. depending on the size of the shells. Now lay all the stuffed shells open side up on the greased baking dish. Make sure to leave space between each one and spoon about 1 Tbs. of tomato sauce over each one also. Take the remaining grated cheese and sprinkle the rest over everything. Toss the pan in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. After 40 minutes they should be ready to serve.
Yummy!

For those of you, like myself, who are going to fry your bird vice throw it in the oven. I found this pretty interesting….

It’s my favorite holiday of the year. I would rather spend few hundred bucks on some major grub than to spend the same on gifts during Christmas or Birthdays. Gifts can be had throughout the year but to come together with family and friends and chow down on fried turkey only comes once… okay, okay… I do fried turkey on Christmas too.
Damn, I can’t wait. Only a few hours to go….
Here are a few pics from last year:
Again, have a great Spanksgiving!
